What causes teeth to become discolored?
Often, tooth become yellowed or brown as a part of aging, as the enamel on the surface becomes worn and thin, allowing the dentin underneath to show through. Teeth can also be stained due to poor dental hygiene or certain foods, such as coffee and tea, and from smoking. Finally, inherent stains result from certain antibiotics or minerals that may be absorbed by the body, permanently altering the color of the teeth.

What causes tooth grinding?
Do you wake up with a jaw that feels stiff or sore, or have trouble opening your mouth all the way? You may be grinding or clenching your teeth as you sleep. This condition, known as bruxism, causes people to wear away the enamel on their teeth many times faster than those who do not clench or grind. Eventually, this can cause cracked teeth and other damage, requiring crowns and other treatments  to repair or replace teeth that have become worn and damaged. Visit the dentist for a night guard to provide relief and protect your teeth.
